Feral, Outrider, and Bar W Ranch are teaming up to offer to offer this unique culinary hunting experience. We’ve heard from many of you that feel hunting is one of the best ways to source local, sustainable meat but don’t have hunting opportunities readily available. This package provides Central Texans who may not have a place to hunt but want to process their own meat with the opportunity to do both.
Day 1, May 5th
Hunters arrive at the ranch by mid-afternoon. After everybody has settled in, we will head to the shooting range to sight in rifles. Around late afternoon the hunters will head to the blinds for their first evening hunt. Guides will teach and demonstrate proper field dressing techniques to hunters that successful harvest a hog. After sunset hunters will reconvene at the bunkhouse for a delicious dinner.
Day 2, May 6th
Hunters head out just before sunrise for a morning hunt. Around mid-morning the hunters will reconvene at the bunkhouse for breakfast. After breakfast, Chris Houston of Feral Austin will begin full animal butchery instruction including packaging of cuts, steaks, and trim. Making sure hunters leave with a freezer full of delicious natural meat. As late afternoon approaches, hunters head back out to the blinds for an evening hunt. After sunset hunter reconvene at the bunkhouse for another delicious dinner.
Day 3, May 7th
Hunters have one last chance for a morning hunt. By mid-morning, Chris and the guides will make sure everybody’s meat is properly packed and ready to be taken home. Hunters leave by early afternoon.
